Andrew works predominantly on feature films in the Manchester area and has worked on films including "Eaten by Lions", "Bonded by Blood", "Age of Kill", "Tamla Rose" and "The Zombie King" to name just a few.

Masterclass with Alex Gregson

Sound Designer Alex Gregson from 344 Audio will discuss the process of building an excellent Audio Mix for your film, from pre production to final deliverables. Demonstrating both creative and technical practices, this talk will help demystify the complete audio process for your film by covering the workflow used on a daily basis at 344 Audio.

Tricking our minds into believing the unreal often relies on a hint of the real – genuine models and props provide anchors that help audiences suspend disbelief. From alien spaceships to samurai swords, and body parts to ancient statues, special and visual effects uses physical artefacts to inject reality into a scene as well as provide a sense of place, time and atmosphere for actors and audiences. Jim Costello reveals some of the secrets of setting the scene.

Barry Purvis - Animator

With a career that spans over 25 years, Barry Purves is one of the UK's most revered animation directors, with over 60 international awards (including BAFTA and Oscar nominations). Throughout his prestigious career he has masterfully utilised puppet animation in his films to explore themes as varied as history, sexuality, language and music.

Producers April Kelley (Mini Productions), Dana Bruce (Northern Order), Tania Feimuth (D.O.P) and Amanda Graham (Writer) come togeher for a conversation on the issues surrounding Women in Film. 

Campaigns like "#Me Too", "#Times Up", "ReclaimTheFrame" and "#StrongFemaleCharacter" have done a lot to raise the disparity and challenges for women in film, but is anything really changing ? Our panel will discuss the past, present and the future.
