Bolton International Film Festival returns to the Light Cinema Tues 29th Sept - Thurs Oct.
Voted a "Top 12 UK Indie Festival" by FilmDaily, a Creative England CE50 in 2019 and consistently voted a "Top 100 reviewed" festival from over 8000+ film festivals worldwide, Bolton Film Festival screens 150+ short films over three days and five venues.
As well as great films we also host around 20 talks and 6 masterclasses with some of the best talent in moving image both behind and in front of the camera.
Previous editions have included BAFTA and OSCAR winning short films, including student films, community film-makers, crowd funded films, BFI films and Creative England short films. Our most notable success coming from "The Silent Child" which later went on to win an Academy Award for Best Short Action film.
