Fri 16th - Sun 25th October
Across the ten days Bolton Film Festival will be bringing you over 200 award winning short films to the comfort of your home. As well as offering great films we're hosting industry talks and masterclasses with some of the best creative forces in film both behind and in front of the camera.
The festival is a BAFTA-Qualifying short film festival and a Creative England CE50, and has been consistently voted a "Top 100 reviewed" festival from over 8000 worldwide on FilmFreeway since inception.
Bolton International Film Festival takes pride in showcasing the best in emerging and established short film talent.
How it works...
The festival begins at 2pm Friday 16th Oct and each day for ten days there will be four new 90 minute programmes added to the platform. You have 48 hours to watch the films in the programmes from the start time. You can stop and start a film, watch it twice and watch it anytime - day or night.
With the "£10 film pass" you can watch all 200 films on an online platform similar to Netflix or Amazon Prime.
If you want the industry talks included it's an additional £10 for all 25 events. The talks are LIVE so you can join online each day and ask questions. If you miss the talk you can watch in back on VOD the next day (or anytime right up to the end of the festival).
Passes are on sale now so sign up today...
The festival is competitive with awards for the films and film-makers across 20 disciplines including the categories International, UK Shorts, Documentary, Animation, Comedy, Horror, Women in Film, Dance, Music and Fashion.
We also have dedicated strands for students at sixth form/college, undergraduate and postgraduate level offering an even playing field for all the competitors.
Our industry talks come from talent that's both behind and in front of the camera. We invite award winning writers, producers, directors, location production crew and post production specialists to share their knowledge alongside potential film funders and partners.
We host Q&A's with all our film-makers after each screening inviting the audience to delve deeper into the making of the film and the creative decisions they see on screen.
Across the ten days we'll be offering online industry masterclasses on non linear editing, lighting, sound design, creating pitch decks, film financing, navigating the festival landscape and creating marketing materials for your film.
